Steps To Setup A Wireless Printer

One of the most important things you will have to decide upon when you setup a wireless printer is where you want to put it and if one or more computers will be using it. All this is relevant to its placing and making sure the signal is within good range of the computers.  If you want to buy a wireless printer, you should check out Brother HL-2170W review.

Connecting your printer itself will be fairly simple if you have a modern computer, most modern computers and printers these days come with both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth inbuilt and are normally plug and play which means there is no technical work to be done. If these functions are not inbuilt on your computer you may need to purchase a wireless card.

Your computer will most likely have plug and play capabilities but you still need to physically go and inform the computer the printer that it is accessing is wireless.   You can also buy a wireless printer. Brother HL-2170W is a good choice.

To do this you need to find out which operating system you are running and follow the instructions you’ll find easily online. These instructions are for Windows Vista. You should open network settings in the control panel and then click on file and printer sharing; hit the enable check box and then click apply.

If you want more than one computer to access your printer you will need to go to each computer and follow the steps given above on each in order for them to recognise the printer. A quick and simple way to do this is via control panel>printers>your printer>and click enable sharing.

That’s as simple as it gets but one thing to keep in mind is that all wireless connections are very prone to interference so to keep your wireless device located somewhere in the house or office that its unlikely to pick up remote control signals from other electrical items makes sense.
